Welcome to Isletage.com
Isletage is a trademarked name, owned by
the Puget Sound WineGrowers Association
(PSWG). This name is intended to help the wine consumer to
identify any cool-climate Puget Sound Appellation wine.
Any wine composed of 100% cool-climate Puget Sound grown grapes can
use this name. It is properly pronounced "eye-luh-taj".
Specifics:
- 100% of the grapes used to make the wine must have been grown in
the Puget Sound Appellation (AVA) in Washington State.
(WA Wine
Commision "Regions 101" with AVA map)
- The term can be used for any blend by any commercial winery. It
could be used for a single varietal, however such wines are usually
identified by their varietal name, thus it is expected Isletage will
only be used for blends.
- It can be used for any style of wine, white, red, rose',
sparkling, sweet dessert-style; no restrictions.
- In order to use this trademarked name, there are no associated
fees. However we do require membership in the PSWG organization,
and registration of the products with PSWG. (This includes
placement on the Isletage website.)
